Jim is a Seattle native who had an early interest and talent for music, starting in fourth grade playing the guitar and then moving on to trumpet. He was in concert band through high school and was a member of the Bellevue Sentinels Drum and Bugle Corps. 

He joined the US Navy in 1980, traveled the world, earned his Master's degree in Logistics, and worked his way up to Navy Captain. He retired after 35 years and and once again found his love for music in a big way! Jim is now playing guitar and performing with local musicians, writing original songs, and graduated from Renton Technical College with an Associates degree in Band Instrument Repair Technology.
